Your doctoral project in dental medicine (Dr. med. dent.)

If you are studying dental medicine or have already completed your dental medicine studies, then the doctorate in dental medicine is suitable for you.

The application

Our faculty values the quality of its doctoral projects. Therefore, doctoral candidates are selected in a 2-stage process.

Registration of a Dr. med. dent. project

You must register your project in the Campus Portal and at the Doctoral Office within 3 months of starting.

The most important stages of your doctoral project

A 3-member committee accompanies your project and documents the progress in TAC meetings.

Research time and training program

A minimum of 8 months of full-time research work is required for the Dr. med. dent..

Publication requirement

As part of your doctoral project, you should publish at least one publication as a co-author.

Submitting your dissertation

Once you have reached all the milestones of your doctoral project, you can submit your dissertation.

The evaluation of your dissertation

At least three evaluations will be prepared for your dissertation.

The defense of your thesis

The defense is a scientific discussion with your examination committee.

Publication of the statutory copies and the doctoral certificate

You will receive your doctoral certificate after you have published your statutory copies.
