At least three evaluations will be obtained for your dissertation.

Evaluation

  • Your dissertation will be evaluated by at least 3 experts:
    1. Expert opinion: prepared by the 1st TAC member
    2. Expert opinion: is prepared by the 2nd or 3rd TAC member, the selection is made by the doctoral committee
    3. Expert opinion: is prepared by an independent reviewer, the selection is made by the doctoral committee
  • All experts receive the dissertation for review at the same time and independently of each other.
  • The deadline for all reviews is 2 months in each case
  • Additional reviews: in the event of major differences in grades or a “summa cum laude” assessment, the doctoral committee appoints further reviewers.
  • If the dissertation is rejected by at least one expert opinion, the doctoral committee decides on rejection or acceptance.
  • The dissertation may be returned once by the doctoral committee for revision.

Review period

The review process usually takes 3 - 6 months. We ask for your understanding that the review period may take longer depending on the reviewers.
We will inform you as soon as the assessment has been completed. Unfortunately, we are unable to answer any queries regarding the status of the procedure due to limited capacity.
