Working at the BMC in Tech and Administration
Enabling success in science and teaching: Join BMC's laboratory, IT, technical workshop and administrative teams.
Enabling success in science and teaching: Join BMC's laboratory, IT, technical workshop and administrative teams.
For excellent research and teaching, we need an excellent infrastructure. The science-supporting services at the BMC as well as the technical and administrative staff in the research areas and core facilities form the foundation for an environment that enables innovation and progress.
Join us in developing solutions across a diverse range of exciting fields, from laboratory work and animal care to grant management and IT projects.
As a laboratory technician, you will apply your expertise to ensure the success of experiments. You will transform research concepts into practical applications, develop methods, and optimize processes. Together with the service staff, you will contribute to the efficient operation of the laboratory. In doing so, you will play a vital role in advancing our research and scientific progress.
Working with animal models is crucial for medical progress. As a member of our Core Facility Animal Models (CAM) team, you will play an active role in advancing this progress. You will create and maintain an optimal environment for the animals involved in scientific projects. As an animal caretaker, you will ensure their well-being, provide dedicated care, and support researchers. If interested, you will have the opportunity to engage directly in research projects, learn new techniques, and contribute to the development of CAM.
Are you interested? If so, we look forward to receiving your application with CV and references to cam@bmc.med.lmu.de - even if you are a career changer.
CAM is also training animal caretakers. Please contact us if you are interested: cam@bmc.med.lmu.de
In our research workshop, the motto is "Nothing is impossible." You will apply your manual skills, expertise, and creativity to collaborate with researchers in planning, designing, and optimizing equipment and experimental setups.
Are you interested? If so, we look forward to receiving your application with CV and references to hklinker@bmc.med.lmu.de if you have completed training in precision mechanics or electronics.
As an IT staff member, you are the backbone of the modern research infrastructure on site. With your expertise, you develop and maintain the highly complex IT systems that our research institute relies on every day. As the central interface to the LMU's IT services and as a competent IT partner, you will provide our researchers with advice and support - for everyday questions as well as for major technical challenges.
Are you interested? Then we look forward to receiving your application with CV and references at hklinker@bmc.med.lmu.de - even if you are a career changer.
As an administrator, you play a crucial role in supporting our research. You will coordinate resources, manage budgets, oversee human resources, and ensure compliance with legal and administrative requirements. Your contributions enable researchers to focus entirely on their projects, while your efforts actively shape the success and future of BMC research.
Coordinating research networks, managing graduate programs, organising events and communicating science - these are just some of the activities of the Science Managers at the BMC. They form the interface between research, teaching, administration and infrastructure and play a crucial role in shaping the BMC community.
Our research: We bring together natural sciences and clinical research to investigate the development and adaptability of cells - from basic mechanisms to pathology and repair.
Our history: The BMC was opened on the Großhadern/Martinsried campus in 2015. It unites preclinical, clinical-theoretical and clinical research groups from the Faculty of Medicine and bridges the gap between basic research and clinical application.
Our values at the BMC: Around 450 people from over 45 nations work at the BMC. The BMC community thrives on the diversity of perspectives and expertise, talents and ideas. We actively discuss how we want to work together, conduct research and shape the future.
