Research time and training program of Dr. rer. biol. hum.

To graduate and become a Dr. rer. biol. hum. a minimum of 2 years of full-time research is mandatory. Document your research time and your training program in the logbook.

Research time and training program

  • To graduate and become a doctor in human biology, at least 2 years of full-time research are mandatory.
  • The research time is confirmed by your 1st TAC member in your logbook (PDF, 768 KB).

Scope: at least 60 hours, of which:

25 hours of time in interdisciplinary events:

  • Mandatory: MMRS lecture series on good scientific practice (80% participation)
  • Optional: Lectures, seminars or similar on the topic of “Good Scientific Practice”, statistics, citation, scientific writing, presentation skills, programming, and much more.
  • You can also find other interdisciplinary events, for example
  • at the Center for Leadership and People Management at LMU,
  • with "Student und Arbeitsmarkt" at LMU and
  • at the LMU Graduate Center

35 hours of time in subject-specific events:

  • Subject-specific events include: journal clubs, conferences, methods courses, etc.
  • Courses outside of the LMU can also be credited if appropriate evidence is provided.
