The IT department has been at the institute since February 2019. Its employees are the point of contact for all hardware and software issues. Thanks to them, the Institute's digital provision has undergone an enormous upgrade through
- Systematic distribution of computers from the WAP
- Setting up central data management for research equipment
- WLAN connection for the institute
- Setting up an optimized network for the institute's employees
- IT security: e.g. firewall, centrally managed Windows installation
- Installation of a professional backup system (coming soon)
- Integration of new employees into the WSI NETZ
- Continuous updating of operating systems
- Use of the advantages of bundled software licenses through cooperation with other institutes
- Networking with other IT departments - Use of the hardware exchange platform
