Student Council

Welcome to the WSI Student Council, where we aim to foster a vibrant and inclusive community while advocating for the needs and interests of all students and technicians.

About us

As the representatives of the student body, our task is to listen, support, and enact positive change to enhance life at the institute.

Lena Schaller is pursuing her Ph.D. in Medical Research within the GRK2338
program, where she studies pulmonary barrier function in mouse and cell
models. She is passionate about facilitating active communication and
support among her colleagues at the WSI.

Suhasini Rajan is completing her PhD in Medical Research, where she is working to develop strategies to isolate interstitial macrophages from the lung. Suhasini is actively involved in fostering meetings among young scientists, including organizing the 2020 SFB Young Scientists' Meeting.

Gonxhe Lokaj started her Ph.D. in Medical Research in 2021 as part of the GRK2338 program. She specializes in nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, electrophysiology, and organizing community events.

Ombudsperson

Stefanie Resenberger, the coordinator of our Research Training Group (GRK) 2338, plays a central role in its success. As the institute's ombudsperson, her compassion and support create a welcoming environment, making her an invaluable asset to our community.

Professor Dr. rer. nat. Ingrid Boekhoff, as the second ombudsperson, is readily available via Zoom or phone, ensuring prompt support and conflict resolution within the institute.
