Munich Medical Research School (MMRS)

The Munich Medical Research School (MMRS) is the graduate school of the Medical Faculty of the LMU, under whose umbrella all doctorates of the faculty in the fields of human medicine, dentistry, human biology, natural sciences and the Ph.D. Medical Research have been brought together.

Our mission

The main task of the MMRS is to promote and improve the visibility, attractiveness and quality of doctoral studies at the LMU Faculty of Medicine nationally and internationally.

The MMRS registers all doctoral candidates and examiners in a central database, which is used, for a number of purposes, for example, to issue admissions, organize examination procedures and issue certificates.

The structure of the MMRS

The MMRS is the link between the doctoral committees, the Doctoral Office, as well as the Ph.D. core areas and associated programs. It consists of an office, a board of directors and a board of trustees. The Doctoral Office of the Faculty of Medicine is part of the MMRS.

Your contact persons

The MMRS management is the central partner for the Faculty of Medicine in setting up and restructuring processes relating to doctoral studies. Together with the Doctoral Office, it is responsible for the administration of all doctoral projects at the Faculty of Medicine.

Our partners

The quality of doctoral studies in the aspects of teaching, supervision and recruitment concepts is carried out in close cooperation with the LMU Graduate Center, the central coordinating and service institution for doctoral studies at the LMU. This enables the MMRS to ensure that doctorates at the Faculty of Medicine meet consistently high standards.
