The evaluation of your dissertation
Your dissertation will be evaluated by at least two experts, selected by the doctoral committee.
The evaluation of your dissertation (for theses registered before September 30, 2018)
- The doctoral committee selects at least two reviewers for each dissertation.
- Usually the supervisor is selected for the 1st reviewThe reviewers receive the dissertation one after the other
- The deadline for all reviews is 4 weeks in each case
- Additional evaluations: depending on the assessment and in the event of discrepancies in grades, the doctoral committee commissions further reviews or statements.
- If the dissertation is rejected by at least one review, the doctoral committee decides on whether to reject or accept it.
- The dissertation may be returned once by the doctoral committee for revision.
Review period
The review process usually takes 6 - 8 months. We ask for your understanding that the review period may take longer depending on the reviewers.
We will inform you as soon as the assessment has been completed. Unfortunately, we are unable to answer any queries regarding the status of the procedure due to limited capacity.
