Publication of statutory copies

  • You must publish your habilitation within two years of being granted teaching qualifications.
  • Before you can submit your habilitation thesis to the university library, please ensure that your title page (DOCX, 16 KB) complies with the guidelines. For the year, please enter the year in which your teaching qualification was confirmed.
  • Options for publishing the mandatory copies:
    1. Publication via the university library: submit three printed copies of the habilitation thesis and one digital version to the "Electronic University Theses" department.
      For your support, there are regular short training courses on the publication of university theses
    2. or submit three printed copies to the university library and publish the complete work as the sole author in a journal or journal series
    3. or submit three printed copies to the university library and publish the work as the sole author as a single publication with a commercial publisher with a minimum print run of 150 copies guaranteed by the publisher

postdoctoral qualification certificate

  • The habilitation certificate will only be issued after the mandatory copies have been submitted.
  • At the earliest 6-8 weeks after the teaching qualification has been determined and the mandatory copies have been delivered.
  • The certificates will be sent by registered mail.

The title Dr. habil.:

The determination of teaching qualification is linked to the right to use the suffix "habil." after the doctoral degree. The suffix cannot be used at the same time as the title of private lecturer or professor.
