Research Topics
Our lab investigates how nuclear metabolism shapes gene regulation and chromatin dynamics, with a particular focus on metabolic enzymes traditionally associated with mitochondria that have been recently discovered to also operate in the nucleus. We aim to uncover how these enzymes locally contribute to chromatin remodeling, histone modifications, and transcriptional regulation, influencing gene expression programs in response to metabolic and environmental signals. Using a combination of genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, imaging and biochemical approaches, we seek to define the molecular mechanisms driving gene expression plasticity across different cellular states and conditions.
