Research Topics

  • Autoimmunity to known and novel targets in the CNS
  • B cells and B cell directed therapies in CNS inflammation
  • Immune response to SARS-CoV-2

In Multiple sclerosis (MS) and related diseases misguided autoreactive immune cells attack the own central nervous system (CNS) and induce chronic inflammation. We aim to (1) explore the autoimmunity against known target antigens and identify novel targets to stratify patients, (2) study B cells and B cell directed therapies in MS and related diseases, and (3) apply our experiences in human immunology to understand long-term protection against SARS-CoV-2 focusing on the development and maintenance of memory B cells.
