About Me

Melissa began her academic journey at the University of Regensburg, where she studied Biology. During her Master's studies she specialized in Genetics, Human Molecular Biology and Immunology. She completed her Master's thesis at the Leibniz Institute for Immunotherapy in Regensburg, where she investigated the conversion of T cells into regulatory T cells.

For her Ph.D., she joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Maria Robles. Her doctoral research focuses on how circadian desynchronization and epigenetic alterations interact to influence liver function and disease. Her project is part of TRR418, a multidisciplinary research consortium dedicated to understanding the body's internal clock to improve human health.
