Prof. Dr. med. Moritz Wildgruber
Affiliation: LMU University Hospital, Radiology
Research Focus:
The group's research focuses on investigating the role of the vasculature, perfusion and immunity in both vascular diseases and cancer. The lab develops and evaluates molecular imaging tools within an integrated diagnostical approach, combining multimodal and multiscale imaging data, analysis of circulating immune cells (liquid biopsy), and advanced tissue analysis
Role in ICON:
Within ICON’s focus on vascular disease processes and heart disorders, the Wildgruber lab contributes non-invasive imaging techniques and advanced analytical approaches together with radiomics and deep learning models. These tools are used to assess disease activity in vivo, monitor therapeutic response and to investigate translational biomarkers in small and large animal models.
Key Areas of Work:
- Molecular imaging of inflammation, vascular disease and cancer
- Integrated diagnostics of multiscale imaging data, tissue analysis and liquid biopsy
- Response monitoring of interventional multimodal therapies
Techniques & Infrastructure:
- Imaging platforms for small to large animal models
- Immune Cell Tracking
- Interventional animal models
