The cover story of the new issue is all about the open day organized by LMU Klinikum to celebrate 50 years of Campus Großhadern. More than 8,000 visitors came to find out about what our clinics have to offer and were given advice on living a long, healthy life at various stands.

In his opening speech, Science Minister Markus Blume emphasized the importance of the Großhadern Campus: "Medical history has been written at the Future Campus Großhadern for 50 years, and this is just the beginning! We are building the most modern hospital in Europe here and thus creating the best conditions for the best medicine - together we are setting international medical standards!" In the subsequent discussion round with the Medical Director, Prof. Markus M. Lerch, DFB co-trainer Sandro Wagner, Tamara Schwab, heart transplant patient, author and influencer, and ESA astronaut Dr. Thomas Reiter spoke about their long-standing connection to Großhadern Hospital.

Another highlight was a look into the future of the Großhadern campus: Visitors were able to find out more about the planned new buildings in an exhibition with construction models. Particularly impressive was the "leap in time" to the year 2034 with large-format panels showing the future view of the eastern end of the Großhadern campus. Excellent medicine will still be practiced in Großhadern in 50 years' time.

On November 6 and 7, the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at LMU Klinikum celebrated its 120th anniversary with a high-profile symposium, and on November 8, it offered the public the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of a clinic that has succeeded in consolidating its international reputation in research, academic teaching and patient care for more than a century.
