LMU Klinikum was once again a partner of the NFL

LMU doctors supported medical care at the football match between the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants in Munich's Allianz Arena.

Medical care plays a key role at sporting events - especially in sports with a high risk of injury. This was also the case at the US National Football League (NFL) match between the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants, which the Panthers won 20:17 in overtime.

As was the case at the NFL game in Munich two years ago, the LMU Klinikum was once again a medical partner and on Match Day provided radiological diagnostics for injuries on site in the Allianz Arena by Dr. Wilhelm Flatz (radiologist) and Matthias Moser (medical technologist for radiology). As a partner of the NFL, the LMU Hospital was also on standby in the event of serious injuries or life-threatening medical problems. Emergency physician Prof. Dr. Matthias Klein, Head of the Central Emergency Department Großhadern, was on site as a direct contact person.

In the days before and after the match, the LMU Klinikum served as the first medical point of contact for emergencies of all kinds - not only for the players, but also for all other employees who had travelled from the USA to organize the match. The cooperation had been prepared for a long time and was characterized by the utmost professionalism. LMU Klinikum is delighted that everything went so smoothly and that no serious life-threatening injuries were sustained.
