Appointed Honorary Professor of General Practice and Family Medicine on March 18, 2003

During his time as head of teaching from 1997 to 2008, Professor Barwitz worked tirelessly to improve teaching and strengthen general medicine at the LMU. In addition to teaching, Professor Barwitz was scientifically involved in health services research. For many years he worked on EBM-based action guidelines for general practitioner-relevant consultations such as coughs, runny nose, hoarseness, sore throats or burning sensations when urinating.
