International Board

The International Board (IB) of LMU Medicine is the central committee for the internationalization of the faculty and hospital. It sharpens the profile and visibility of LMU Medicine worldwide, supports the recruitment and (further) qualification of top international talent in research, teaching, and clinical practice, and develops the internationalization strategy. Beyond profile, visibility, and talent acquisition, the IB also plays a key role in shaping international health issues.

Together with working groups, the IB supports collaborations, programs, and strategic partnerships and designs the implementation processes.

• Targeted expansion of exchange programs (promotion of excellence and breadth) and establishment of alumni networks

• Internationalization@home: Language acquisition & intercultural competence

Postgraduate & Lifelong Learning

• Recruiting international young scientists and skilled workers
• Strengthen education, training, and continuing education
• Bundle measures and make them visible
• International mobility and networking for doctoral students and postdocs

International Networks and Strategic Partnerships

• Expand cooperation at faculty and hospital level; establish new partnerships
• Involve LMU's strategic networks and partners; strengthen funding programs in research and teaching
• Harnessing alumni potential

International Framework

• Central coordination of all international cooperation activities
• Define processes and responsibilities; welcome structures with clear procedures (EU/non-EU)
• Creating frameworks, promoting institutional networking, and reducing administrative burdens

Initiation or renewal of collaborations with LMU Medicine

For the initiation and implementation or extension of cooperation agreements in the form of memoranda of understanding (MoU) and letters of intent (LoI), centrally reviewed and approved templates are available, which are provided exclusively upon request and individually by the Coordination Office of the International Board.

The Legal & Compliance Department of LMU Hospital and, in the case of university agreements, the Central University Administration of LMU University are available to assist you in drafting and concluding specific cooperation agreements.
