Augsburg Science Prize for Intercultural Studies

The University of Augsburg, the Forum Interkulturelles Leben und Lernen (FiLL e.V.) and the City of Peace Augsburg jointly award the Augsburg Science Prize for Intercultural Studies.

The Augsburg Academic Prize for Intercultural Studies, which was first awarded in 1997 on the initiative of the founder of FiLL e. V., the entrepreneur and later Augsburg Peace Prize winner Helmut Hartmann, honors outstanding achievements by young academics whose research deals with intercultural reality in Germany and the associated issues and challenges.

The competition is open to all academic disciplines and aims to reward interdisciplinary and innovative qualification work in a special way. The award is intended to provide incentives for thematically relevant research work and to promote intercultural issues in particular. The aim is for academia to provide research results that contribute to a better understanding of a society characterized by diversity and the forms of organization that are becoming necessary here. By rewarding excellent young researchers, the importance of intercultural studies for peaceful coexistence in open societies is emphasized and scientific development is supported and promoted with this in mind.
