The evaluation of your dissertation

Evaluation

• First, 2 reviews of your dissertation will be obtained:
  1. evaluation: is prepared by the 1^st TAC member
  2. evaluation: is prepared by the 2^nd TAC member
• Both TAC members receive the dissertation for review at the same time and independently of each other.
• The deadline for the reviews is 8 weeks
• Next, 2 expert opinions on your dissertation are obtained
• the doctoral committee selects the reviewers
• The deadline for the comments is 4-6 weeks
• The overall grade of the dissertation is calculated by taking the arithmetic mean of all grades
• in the event of major differences between the proposed grades, the doctoral committee decides on the grade.
• The dissertation may be returned once by the doctoral committee for a major revision.

The evaluation period is usually approx. 4-6 months. We ask for your understanding that the evaluation period may vary and could take longer depending on the reviewers.
We will inform you as soon as the evaluation has been completed. Unfortunately, we are unable to answer questions about the status of the evaluation process for reasons of capacity.
