Submission of your dissertation

• Before you can submit your dissertation in the Campus Portal, your doctoral supervision agreement must be uploaded and confirmed in your account.
• You can upload your signed supervision agreement to your Campus Portal at any time after completing the registration process.
• If you no longer have a copy of the agreement, please contact the respective colleague at the Doctoral Office.
• Fill out the “Application for admission to the doctoral examination (Dr. med.)” in the Campus Portal and enter the final title of your thesis, then save!
• You can now download all pre-filled forms from your Campus Porta.
• Use either the German or the English version of the forms.
• As soon as the uploaded agreement has been confirmed by an employee of the Doctoral Office, you can upload the final version of your dissertation in the Campus Portal in the section “Application for admission to the doctoral examination” together with the documents specified there.

Please upload the following documents to the Campus Portal:

1. Electronic version of the dissertation (PDF format, max. 10 Mb, reduce file size).
2. Affidavit with signature. Please download the form from your Campus Portal account.
3. Confirmation of co-authors (only required when submitting a cumulative dissertation). Please download the forms from your Campus Portal in the “Publication” section, have them signed and upload them again.
4. Form "Münchner Universitätsgesellschaft". Please download the form from your Campus Portal.
5. Certificate of exmatriculation (alternatively: certificate of study progress or matriculation certificate). If you have never been enrolled at LMU, you may submit an application for a waiver of the two required semesters (PDF, 208 KB) of matriculation.
6. Declaration for external studies, if applicable
7. Statement on the “iThenticate” report (more information under “iThenticate - verification of text matches”)
8. Consent of the institution's director, if applicable (only if the data was collected at an external institution)
9. If applicable, Ethics vote by the Ethics Committee
10. Official private certificate of good conduct (not older than 3 months, high quality scan, min. 600 dpi)
11. Certificated copy of your qualifying degree (high quality scan, min. 600 dpi)
12. APS certificate (only required for degrees from China, India and Vietnam)
13. Application for admission to doctoral studies (Dr. med.). Please download the form from your Campus Portal.

Please send an email to the doctoral office to inform them once you completed your thesis submission! Otherwise, we cannot initiate your thesis evaluation!

• Mandatory: Cover page for dissertations, if the data were collected at the LMU hospital or at an institute belonging to the Medical Faculty. (PDF, 986 KB)Please print the form for the title page as a PDF before inserting it into your dissertation so that the “form settings” disappear.
• Mandatory: Cover page for dissertations, if the data were collected outside of the LMU hospital or at an institute belonging to the Medical Faculty. (PDF, 734 KB) (for example, if the data were collegted at an MPI, Helmholtz-Center or at the TUM). Please print the form for the title page as a PDF before inserting it into your dissertation so that the “form settings” disappear.
• Optional: Formatting template for monographic dissertations (DOCX, 108 KB) (Dr. med., Dr. med. dent. or Dr. rer. biol. hum., new study regulations)
• Optional: Format template for cumulative dissertations (DOCX, 111 KB) (Dr. med., Dr. med. dent. or Dr. rer. biol. hum.)
• Important: Please note the faculty's criteria for a cumulative dissertation.

Please use our template for your cover page when submitting your dissertation to the doctoral office (= review copies). Leave the names of the reviewers and the date of the oral examination blank.

Before you can submit your dissertation to the university library at the end of your doctorate, we will send you the complete and finalized cover page, which you must include in your dissertation for the university library (statutory copies) without any changes.

Important note: If changes are made to the final cover page sent by us, this may result in your mandatory copies not being approved.
