Pranab Rudra is a medical ethicist with a background in molecular medicine and microbiology. Since beginning his doctoral research, he has been working on questions related to Large Language Models (LLMs) and informed consent. His research interests lie at the intersection of medical ethics, research ethics, and digital medicine. His work focuses on ethical questions related to the digitalization of medicine, the handling of incidental findings, and research ethics, particularly the assessment of risks and burdens in the review of clinical studies by research ethics committees. He also works on ethical aspects of the physician-patient relationship, neuroethics, and animal ethics.
After studying microbiology at North South University in Bangladesh and Molecular Medicine at Ulm University, he worked as a research associate at Ulm University, LMU University Hospital, Heidelberg University Hospital, and Hannover Medical School.
