Research Topics

  • Myocarditis
  • Heart failure
  • Neutrophil biology

We explore the cellular and molecular mechanisms of inflammatory heart disease, in particular myocarditis. We are mainly interested in how innate immunity shapes immune responses of the adaptive immune system in the inflamed cardiac tissue. To translate basic research into clinical relevance, we combine preclinical and clinical studies.
