We focus on the implementation of the 3Rs (reduce, replace, refine) principle and developments for the sustainability of laboratory animal facilities. We use a battery of behavioral experiments, imaging techniques and AI for the characterization of animal models for translational research as well as screening for new drug candidates in preclinical development. Further, we are interested in comparative pathology of various disease entities. Here we focus on transmission electron microscopy imaging to study cell and organelle structures on the ultrastructural level. Read more...
