Research Topics

  • Mass Spectrometry-based proteomics
  • Histone modifications
  • Chromatin assembly
  • Heterochromatin function

We study the chromatin-bound proteome in order to better understand the establishment and maintenance of epigenetic information. To do this we mostly use high resolution mass spectrometry. We work with tissue culture cells as well as with organs or even entire organisms such as the fruitfly Drosophila melanogaster to investigate fundamental biological processes ranging from ageing to the formation of species.
