This year's retreat for BMC group leaders took place in Bernried in March. In a relaxed atmosphere, the conference offered space for interdisciplinary exchange and discussions on strategic developments at the BMC.

The focus was on six core topics, which were jointly reflected upon and further developed. A particular focus was on future opportunities for cooperation - for example in the areas of data sharing and the use of OpenAI technologies.

We welcomed two speakers as guests: Malika Ihle from the LMU Open Science Center gave insights into current initiatives to promote Open Science. In addition, Lara Urban from the Real-time Genomics department presented new approaches to using genomic data in real time.

The retreat not only provided an opportunity to deepen the topics covered, but also strengthened the informal exchange between the group leaders - a valuable basis for future joint projects.
