The doctoral degree opportunities at the BMC are united under the umbrella of the Munich Medical Research School (MMRS). The Graduate CenterLMU is the central organization for all doctoral studies at LMU.

Pursuing a doctoral degree is an intense period of project work as well as personal and career development. Doctoral researchers not only acquire knowledge about their field of research - becoming essentially experts themselves - but also train their critical thinking and learn about different tools for research practices, analysis and scientific communication.

The MMRS and the Graduate CenterLMU offer a variety of skills courses and orientation events for doctoral researchers. Structured doctoral training programs are available to doctoral candidates at the BMC who are members in one of the many research consortia embedded within the BMC.

Ample opportunities for further skills training and networking are available on campus and within the Life Science Munich community with interdisciplinary seminars, international conferences, as well as events on superordinate topics like ethics, research integrity, sustainability and open science.

The podcast "Diss & Co" of the Graduate CenterLMU provides orientation and tips on how to navigate the doctoral process.
